Nile Rodgers Hospitalized, Forced to Miss Show in Toronto

*Nile Rodgers has been hospitalized with a mystery ailment that forced him to miss a concert over the weekend in Toronto.

The legendary musician and his group Chic are currently touring with Earth, Wind & Fire for the “2054: The Tour.” During the show’s stop at Toronto’s Air Canada Centre on Sunday (Aug. 13), Rodgers was unable to make the gig after falling ill. He was taken to the hospital, where he tweeted that doctors “are taking great care” of him.

Rodgers, a cancer survivor, said he’s never missed a gig until now and thanked his supporters and medical team in the pair of tweets late Sunday.

At press time, his condition was unknown and its unclear if Rodgers will make tonight’s show at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
