*Financial support is pouring in for the family of Cleveland shooting victim Robert Godwin. The 74-year-old was gunned down by the coward Steve Stephens on a video he posted to Facebook.
Arizona State University student Wesley Davis, who has no connection to Godwin’s family, launched a GoFundMe to help the grieving family. Davis is working directly with the fundraising platform to ensure the family receives the donations, according to KPNX.
A goal of $20,000 has been set, and since the page was created Sunday, more than $80,000 has been raised. All of the funds are going to Godwin’s family.

“I cannot imagine the pain his family is going through right now. I am just a kid from Arizona who unfortunately saw this video on Facebook and wanted to help,” he wrote on the page. “I know this won’t bring their loved one back but it’s the least we can do. I hope they find peace.”
Godwin was walking home from an Easter meal with his family when Stephens fatally shot him while recording the random act of violence, which he posted to Facebook. Stephens said he would “keep killing until they catch me,” before his FB page was taken down.
The mentally ill murderer was found dead with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in his car in Erie, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday after a nearly 48-hour manhunt.
Earlier that day, Godwin’s son Robby Miller told CNN’s Anderson Cooper that he didn’t want Stephens to die, but “brought to justice.”
“My dad would … want this from us. And he would say, ‘Tonya, forgive him’ because they know not what they do,” Godwin’s daughter Tonya Godwin-Baines said.
Meanwhile, the ex-girlfriend of Stephens, said she is trying to “pick up the pieces of my world” after Stephens blamed her for his killing spree.
“I don’t know if I know how to be Joy Lane anymore. I don’t know how to pick up all the pieces of my world at the moment,” Joy Lane told WJW, a Fox station in Cleveland, on Tuesday. “I’ve got a lot of negative comments…I’ve been told that I’m the one who should have died.”
Baines told ABC News Monday that the video of her father being gunned down “forever will be in my mind because I saw the fear in my father’s eyes.”
