Charlie Murphy Has Died of Leukemia. He Was 57 (VIDEO)

*Whoa! Here’s some super sad news seemingly from out of nowhere. Eddie Murphy‘s older brother, Charlie Murphy, has died of leukemia.

The fact that he was sick with leukemia is going shock a lot of people. In any event, the news of Murphy’s death, at 57, was confirmed by his manager. Ironically, the funny man’s wife, Tisha Taylor Murphy, also died of cancer in 2009.

Charlie Murphy, a successful stand-up comedian in his own right, died in a NYC hospital. His manager says he’d been going through chemo.

Of course Charlie will be remembered for his stint on the “Chappelle Show” in some of Dave’s most memorable skits … including the night he partied with Prince.

He also co-wrote some of Eddie Murphy’s movies. He co-starred in “Are We There Yet,” “The Boondocks” and “Black Jesus.”

He recently toured with Cedric the Entertainer, Eddie Griffin, George Lopez and D.L. Hughley.
