*With all due respect, I started noticing a l-o-n-g time ago that being a preacher is one of the most lucrative “jobs” out there.
Many of us in the Black community grew up listening to a preacher on the radio or watching a pastor on Sunday morning TVÂ — as our household prepared for church.
At the time, and I know I’m dating myself here, televangelist Billy Graham was the it preacher. Little did we know how much of a big business church would become.
Yes, God is good! Real good.
Just take a look at these preachers who have built an impressive amount of wealth from preaching the Word.
Bishop David Oyedepo
Bishop Oyedepo hails from Osogbo, Nigeria. He is 62 years old and as of 2017, his net worth is $150 Million. He has been married since 1982 and has four children. According to Wikipedia, he is a Christian pastor and founder and presiding Bishop at the  megachurch Faith Tabernacle in Ota, Ogun State, Nigeria, as well as the Living Faith Church Worldwide, aka Winners’ Chapel .
To those of us in the United States, Bishop T.D. Jakes may be a more familiar name.
Born Thomas Dexter “T.D.” Jakes, Sr., the Bishop hails from South Charleston, West Virginia and is  59 years old. He has been married since 1981 and has five children. Not only is he the pastor of the nondenominational megachurch The Potters House, he has built his business of preaching the Word by becoming an author, and filmmaker. Today, according to Wikipedia, his net worth stands at $147 Million.Â
Pastor Chris OyakhilomeÂ
Pastor Oyakhilome hails from Edo State, Nigeria. He is 53 years old and married with two children. Wikipedia says he is the founding president of Believers’ Loveworld Incorporated, aka Christ Embassy, in Lagos. His net worth is recorded at $50 Million.Â
