*”Get Out” star Daniel Kaluuya offered his perspective on race and racism and the suffering of black folks during a recent VIP screening of the flick in NYC.
Joined by director Jordan Peele and his castmates, Daniel touched on the differences between racism in America and Britain — noting that racial strife and police brutality is not consistently in your face where he’s from, compared to America.

“When Chris was in the chair, and he was like, Why us, why black people? And it’s like, yeah man. Like, what the fuck have we done? What have we done? What is this happening? What did we do? We’re getting like persecuted, bad, and killed. What have we done?
Meanwhile, Samuel L. Jackson went on Ebro in the Morning and explained his issue with “Get Out”.
“The thing in my mind is, I know the young brother who is in the movie,” Jackson said, referring to Kaluuya. “And he’s British. … I tend to wonder, what would that movie have been with an American brother who really understands that in a way, because, I mean, Daniel grew up in a country where they have been interracial-dating for a hundred years.”
Jackson also explained why he thinks Brits are taking American parts. “They’re cheaper than us, for one thing,” he offered. “They don’t cost as much. … And they think they’re better trained, because they’re classically trained. I don’t know what the love affair is with all that.”
