LaMarcus Aldridge Has Heart Problem – Mayweather to ‘Come Out of Retirement’

Two interesting sports stories are making news today. One deals with NBA star LaMarcus Aldridge and the other is regarding Floyd Mayweather fighting Coner McGregor.

First, according to the San Antonio Spurs, power forward LaMarcus Aldridge is out indefinitely after experiencing a minor heart arrhythmia.

The Spurs announced the news Saturday ahead of their game with the Golden State Warriors. The team also added that Aldridge experienced an irregular heartbeat and will be held out for further testing. How long he will be ooff the floor remains to be seen.

In addition to Aldridge not being available to play, the Spurs are also without Kawhi Leonard, Tony Parker and Dejounte Murray for Saturday’s game.

Aldridge, 31, is averaging 17.3 points and 7.4 rebounds this season, his 10th in the NBA.

As far as Floyd Mayweather is concerned, apparently the money grew too large to resist and he’s decided to come out of retirement to fight Conor McGregor.

“I don’t want to hear no more excuses about the money, about the UFC,” Mayweather, 40, said in a video posted by FightHype.com. “Sign the paper with the UFC so you can fight me in June. Simple and plain, let’s fight in June.

“You’re the B side. I’m the A side. We’re not here to cry about money. I’m tired of all this crying about money and saying you want to fight. You’re blowing smoke up everyone’s ass, if you want to fight, sign the paperwork.”

Even though Mayweather said he’s “coming out of retirement” to take on McGregor, the bottom line is that the fight won’t get done unless McGregor concedes on a few matters. A: Mayweather isn’t going to walk to the ring first. B: He’s not going to be second on the billboard. And C: He’s surely going to want the lion’s share of the purse.

McGregor is somebody Mayweather claims he hadn’t even heard of until the Irishman first called him out last year. But “Money” knows who he is now. And with sacks of money – likely hundreds of millions – awaiting him for what should be an easy night’s work, Mayweather is ready to end his second retirement and go for that 50th win.

Now it’s McGregor’s turn to further build up a fight that may never happen.
