*For those who didn’t get the memo, Chance The Rapper wants folks who keep bringing up his old child support issue to know that it’s well … old news!

Apparently one of those folks who didn’t get the memo is a Chicago Sun Times writer named Mary Mitchell who is on the late freight as far as the Chicago rapper and his daughter’s mother Kirsten Corley making up. Yes, Ms. Mitchell, all that court drama is old news.

It’s funny or sad, depending on your point of view, but In the article, it mentions how Chance’s child support problem could tarnish his “good boy image.”

Here’s a taste of what she wrote:

“I don’t want to go hard on Chance the Rapper because he’s one of the good guys. But his messy split from the mother of his 18-month-old daughter threatens to overshadow the positive vibes created by his $1 million donation to the Chicago Public Schools. Chance, whose given name is Chancelor Bennett, is embroiled in a child-support fight in Cook County court, with new documents in the case filed this week. When the rapper picked up three Grammys last month, I squealed like an avid fan. Although I hadn’t heard a single lyric the 23-year-old penned, I was as proud as if I knew him personally. In a way, I did.”

Get the rest of Mary Mitchell’s out of date story of Chance The Rapper at Chicago Sun Times.

In response to the Mitchell’s Sun Times story, Chance went to Instagram to let everyone know that it’s all good between he and his family:

No matter what we are, we’re always family ???‍?‍?

But, as Ebony points out, what is questionable is Mary Mitchell’s article that hit newsstands on Thursday morning. The headline and front page of the paper alone is enough to make you gag and hit the writer–and publication–with a brick of side-eyes.

Dang, we couldn’t have said it better ourselves. Check it out:
