*Ben Carson has dropped $1.22 million on a new home in Vienna, Virginia, just outside of Washington, D.C., the washingtonian.com reports. Carson and his wife Lacena “Candy” Carson, closed on the brick colonial at the end of January. The seller was Mark Langevin, a lawyer, and the couple snatched up the 1.5-acre property at a discount.
The neurosurgeon-turned-politician bought the home for 13% less than the $1.599 million asking price when the five-bedroom/five-bathroom home first hit the market last year. The Carsons paid less for the home than its last two owners. The house changed hands for $1.56 in 2005, and again in 2012 for $1.3 million.

The home was built in 1993 and boasts many modern amenities, such as a jetted tub and a mother-in-law apartment, according to the listing. It also shares similar details to Ben’s main residence in West Palm Beach, Florida, like double-height living spaces, interior columns and an ornate master bath.
Ben and his wife will be moving from their Florida home to the capitol, where in his future role — secretary of Housing and Urban Development, Carson will be tasked with helping boost American homeownership and affordable housing.
The failed presidential candidate and his wife are keeping their main Florida residence, but they are selling their former home, another property in West Palm Beach. They recently knocked $100,000 off the price tag, and are now asking $1.1 million.
Meanwhile, actress/comedian Leslie Jones says she wants to fight Ben Carson over recent comments in which he referred to American slaves as immigrants.
