Jay Z, Harvey Weinstein to Lead ‘Kalief Browder’ Town Hall Special on Spike

*The second episode of Spike TV’s six-part docuseries “Time: The Kalief Browder Story” will be preceded Wednesday with a Town Hall special led by executive producers Jay Z, Harvey Weinstein and David Glasser.

The trio will join members of the now-deceased Browder’s family and others for the live “Time and Punishment” event set to air live at 9 p.m. from New York City before the second episode airs at 10 p.m. The Town Hall will also will air on sister Viacom nets VH1 and BET.

Jay Z also appears in the docuseries, which tells the story of Kalief Browder, a young African-American student who spent three years on Rikers Island without ever being convicted of a crime. The physical and mental horror he endured led to his suicide in 2015.

Browder siblings Akeem, Nicole, Deion, and Kamal will be joined in the Town Hall by family attorney Paul Prestia and Jenner Furst, who directed and executive produced “The Kalief Browder Story.” The host and other panelists are TBA.
