*Nancy Wilson is best described as a legendary entertainer, a jazz icon and the epitome of style and class.
On Monday, February 20 (2017) at the Taglyan Cultural Complex in Hollywood, Ms. Wilson was feted with a birthday celebration fit for a queen.
Dancers from the Debbie Allen Dance Academy delighted the crowd with elegant choreography.  Jonathan Slocumb and Dawn Lewis served as hosts for the soiree that was presented by Edward Roebuck, long time road manager for Ms. Wilson.
The lady of the hour looked ravishing in a ruby red gown and she glowed with grace. In attendance for the 3 time Grammy Award winner were her family and long time friends Merri Dee (media legend), Mary Wilson (The Supremes), Susan Taylor (Formerly of Essence Magazine), Kephra Burns, Stevie Wonder, Dionne Warwick, Clifton Davis, Angela Bassett, Courtney Vance, Marla Gibbs, Robert Hooks, Anna Maria Horseford, Arsenio Hall, Eloise Laws, Andre’ James, Allison Williams and many more.
Nancy Wilson made her debut on Capitol Records in 1960 when she recorded Guess Who I Saw Today. She nabbed a Grammy in 1964 for Best New Artist. In the same year she soared to the top of the charts with How Glad I Am.
Ms. Wilson recorded and toured consistently for the next four decades. In 1999 she was inducted into the Big Band and Jazz Hall of Fame and in 2004 Ms. Wilson received the Jazz Masters Fellowship Award from the National Endowment for the Arts. Nancy Wilson’s current discography exceeds 50 albums.
These days Ms. Wilson enjoys private life with her family at a lovely estate in Southern California.
