*Wesley Snipes has signed on to co-star alongside Anne Heche, Dave Annable and WWE Superstar Seth Rollins in the John Stockwell directed thriller “Temple.” Snipes will also serve as a producer on the project, alongside Erebus Pictures founders Gene Simmons of KISS and WWE Studios.
Filming on “Temple,” started this week, and the story follows “a team of trained operatives who find themselves trapped inside an isolated military compound after its artificial intelligence is suddenly shut down – and then begin to experience strange and horrific phenomena.”

“It’s exciting to find myself in a genre I have always wanted to explore.” said Wesley Snipes “We are looking forward to a great brand collaboration with Erebus, WWE and Gene.”
“Gene and I are thrilled to have such a stellar cast on board for our first Erebus picture.” said Michael Luisi, President WWE Studios. “We also look forward to extending our relationship with John Stockwell.”

Snipes most recently starred in NBC’s “The Player” – which was canceled after its first season. He also appeared in Spike Lee’s “Chi-Raq.” No release date for “Temple” has been set.
WWE Studios will handle North American sales and Voltage Pictures will handle international sales for the film. Simmons announced last year that he was joining forces with WWE Studios to form Erebus Pictures, an imprint designed to produce a series of “elevated genre films.” “Temple,” penned by Matt Savelloni, is the first film slated for release.
“It reminds me of DEMON SEED,” Simmons says of the film, “and a few other movies where the computers are so advanced. WAR GAMES had that thing, it was kind of way advanced and building as a computer that’s beyond anything. And of course, things start to happen in the same way as they did in ALIENS, when they sent in a commando team to find out what the hell happened. That’s sort of what happens. And then they come in and it’s a combination of TEN LITTLE INDIANS, probably closer in tone to John Carpenter’s THE THING. Which I thought was a better film than Howard Hawk’s THE THING.”
