*Rachel Roy thought she was really cute when she took to her Instagram account over the weekend to brag that she’s the “Becky with good hair” that Beyonce mentions in her new song “Sorry,” taken from her new visual album “Lemonade.” Roy clearly underestimated the sting of the Beyhive, because once they came for her scalp, Rachel was forced to set her IG to private, and now she has cancelled a scheduled speaking engagement at a seminar called “Mastering Your Métier” in New York City. Organizer Neuehoise NYC confirmed to ET that Roy pulled out of the event due to “a personal emergency.”
Translation: She’s living in fear of the Beyhive. As she should be!
Beyoncé’s “Lemonade” album deals with themes of marital infidelity and, in one track, “Sorry,” the pop star sings, “He only want me when I’m not there / He better call Becky with the good hair.”
Shortly after “Lemonade” premiered on HBO, Roy captioned a photo on Instagram: “Good hair don’t care, but we will take good lighting, for selfies, or self truths, always. Live in the light #nodramaqueens.”
The Beyhive quickly made the connection and swarmed, MSN notes. This isn’t the first time people have speculated about Roy’s relationship with Jay Z. In May 2014, it was reported that Solange yelled at Roy over her relationship with Jigga before the infamous elevator incident at the Met Gala.
Following the “Becky” backlash, Roy wrote on Twitter: “I respect love, marriages, families and strength. What shouldn’t be tolerated by anyone, no matter what, is bullying, of any kind.”
She later released a more detailed statement about the threats being made against her and her kids.
“I want to put the speculation and rumors to rest. My Instagram post was meant to be fun and lighthearted, it was misunderstood as something other than that,” she said. “There is no validity to the idea that the song references me personally. There is no truth to the rumors.”
“Consequently, online haters have targeted me and my daughters in a hurtful and scary manner, including physical threats. As a mother – and I know many mothers would agree – I feel that bullying in any form is harmful and unacceptable,” she continued, then added, “I would hope that the media sees the real issue here – the issue of cyber bullying – and how it should not be tolerated by anyone.

Meanwhile, famed side-chick Monica Lewinsky took the opportunity to joke about Beyoncé’s ‘Lemonade’ project. She tweeted:

Lewinsky is a former White House intern with whom President Bill Clinton admitted to having had what he called an “inappropriate relationship” while she worked at the White House in 1995 and 1996.
