*Well, we guess can chalk up the video of a cell phone exploding in CeeLo Green‘s face as a fake incident. At least that’s what we’re led to believe after Green did a Facebook Live to show folks that he’s OK.
If you notice in his FB video above, he doesn’t look as if he’s suffered any kind of injury to his face, but he also didn’t come right out and say it was indeed a staged event, either.
Earlier on Saturday the video of the incident went super viral and led to speculation by some that it was not real. It also lead to folks being concerned about what they saw in the disturbing video (scroll down to watch).
Like we said, all is well. It turns out the “explosive” video was just a clip from his upcoming music video. So again, at this point, all we can do is speculate that it wasn’t real.

An emotional Green took to Facebook to clear the air and thank his fans for their well-wishes:
“I just wanna let everyone know that I am alive and I’m well and I’m okay. Truthfully I’m really upset that anybody had to be emotionally disturbed by what they saw today. And actually what you saw today was a clip from a smaller video that we were shooting for a new project that I’m doing called, Gnarly Davidson. It’s supposed to set up and introduce the new character identity. Forgive me. I’m still gonna release the music, though. But for anyone that loves me and cares about me, I’m okay.”
If you missed it, here’s the (FAKE?) video of the phone exploding in CeeLo’s face:
All we have to say at this point is that we’re glad CeeLo is OK and if the video is fake, then he’s got some serious acting chops ’cause it looked real real to us!
