Well, it seems the video of a cell phone exploding in CeeLo Green‘s face is not what it appears to be.
WE THINK. MAYBE.
In the wake of the video going viral, Green to the Facebook Live to reassure his fans that he was OK. He explained the clip was from an upcoming video he was shooting. However, never comes out and says it was fake. 🙁 But looking at his face while he talking in the video, we don’t see any evidence that could have been injured, so we can only conclude the incident was not real.
*Damn, damn, damn! Some folks aren’t believing what their eyes are seeing. We’re talking about footage of a cell phone exploding in the face of singer CeeLo Green.
Yes, you read right. Footage of the incident recently surfaced online that shows Green in a recording studio talking on the phone when suddenly the phone explodes as it’s held to his face.
At that point, a man who appears to be the former “The Voice” coach falls out of his chair to the floor. And the video ends. It’s not clear when the incident happened because there is no time-stamp on the surveillance footage.
The video was published by the user “I am Philly Chase,” but he doesn’t say how it was obtained.
Since the now discontinued Samsung Galaxy Note 7 has been documented to overheat and explode, some are speculating that that’s the phone the man in the video is using. But because the video was filmed several feet away, it’s difficult to know exactly what brand/model the device is.

As we alluded to up top, some social media users are skeptical that the man in the video really is Green and some doubt if the incident is actually real.
“That CeeLo Green video fake,” one user wrote. Another asked, “is that CeeLo Green video real or not?”
Well even IF the video is fake, some are worrying if Green is OK. One of those people is fellow artist Omarion who tweeted:
“Sooo manyyyy prayers & light to you brother!!!! I [praying] your hearing is ok!!!”
Meanwhile, CeeLo has yet to comment publicly and his last tweet was made nearly 24 hours ago.
