*Remember when Sevyn Streeter’s national anthem performance before the season opener of the Philadelphia 76ers was cancelled because of her pro-black “We Matter” jersey?

The 76ers apologized for scrapping her performance and invited her back to perform before another home game “of her choice.”

Well, tonight’s the night. The singer returns to Wells Fargo Center to belt the Star Spangled Banner before the 76ers tip off at 8 p.m. against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Sevyn sat down with Fuse.tv to reveal why she chose to return to Philly, and why she would even want to go back.

“It’s unfortunate, me not being able to sing the anthem at a 76ers game because I was wearing a shirt that said ‘We Matter.’ But guess what: now there’s going to be even more awareness,” she told Fuse.

“I say all the time, when you love something you want it to be the best version of itself. I love my country—I just want it to be better,” she continued. “The anthem is just a sense of pride and represents America. I feel like I can do both…I want America to really, truly be great.”
