59th Annual Grammy Awards: Nominations You May Have Missed

*The 59th annual Grammys were announced on Tuesday, and Beyoncé is leading the nominations with nine nods for her album “Lemonade.” Adele, Drake, Chance the Rapper and Rihanna have also been nominated, but there’s an incredible list of artists who earned nods that many are overlooking. Check out the list of those artists below:

Anderson.Paak: Dr. Dre’s protegee is up for Best New Artist and Best Urban Contempary Album.

BJ The Chicago Kid is up for Best R&B Performance for “Turnin Me Up’, Best Traditional R&B Performance and Best R&B Album.

The legendary hiphop group De La Soul is up for Best Rap Album with “Anonymous Nobody.”

Fat Joe earned a Best Rap Performance and Best Rap nod.

KING is up for Best Urban Contemporary Album.

Soulful singer Lalah Hathaway is up for Best Traditional R&B Performance for remake of Anita Baker’s “Angel.”

Bob Marley’s son Ziggy Marley is up for Best Reggae album.

Mint Condition is up for Best R&B album via their “Healing Season.”

Musiq Soulchild earned a nod for Best R&B Performance for his song “I Do.”

Songbird Mya is nominated for Best R&B Album with her “Smooth Jones”. Her first Grammy nomination and win came in 2002 for her vocal performance on the song “Lady Marmalade” with Pink, Lil’ Kim and Christina Aguilera.

Shirley Caesar is up for Best Gospel Performance/Song with her song, “It’s Alright, It’s Okay.”

Saxophonist and producer Terrance Martin is up for Best R&B album for his “Velvet Portraits”.
