Michelle Obama Leaves White House Staffers ‘In Tears’ During Farewell Pizza Party

*Outgoing first lady Michelle Obama hosted her final holiday party for White House Staffers at one of her favorite pizza joints in D.C. — and according to reports, there wasn’t a dry eye in the restaurant after her farewell speech.

The bittersweet celebration took place Tuesday at We the Pizza, a Capitol Hill spot owned by “Top Chef” alum Spike Mendelsohn and frequented over the years by both President Obama and the first lady.

According to The Hill, festivities lasted there until after 10 p.m., then, continued on into the night at Mendelsohn’s other D.C. location, French hot spot, Béarnaise:

We hear that’s where Obama delivered remarks thanking her staff for their hard work. Obama’s words “left everyone in tears,” according to our tipster.
