*Gayle King, we presume, is officially a happy camper at “CBS This Morning.” That’s because she signed a $16.5 million deal to remain co-host of morning news show on CBS.

According to Page Six, King agreed to a three-year deal at $5.5 million per year to stay on the show which is co-hosted by Charlie Rose and Norah O’Donnell.

While the competition (ABC’s “Good Morning America” and “Today“on NBC) are losing viewers or staying flat, “CBS This Morning” is the only morning news broadcast to show a growth in viewers … up from last year to 3.77 million viewers total, according to recent Nielsen figures.

“Gayle is a huge asset to the show, and her chemistry with Charlie is great. She’s here for the long term,” says a source.

CBS News would not discuss the terms of the deal, but a rep confirmed to Page Six, “We have a long-term deal with Gayle.”
