*As if Donald Trump’s uncomfortable-looking photo-op with President Obama at the White House Thursday wasn’t hilarious enough by itself, TV’s late night hosts got in on the action offering a number of interesting observations.
“At least one black person should get nominated for an Oscar this year,” said “The Daily Show’s” Trevor Noah of Obama, pondering POTUS’ internal dialogue while hosting the president-elect.
Stephen Colbert of The Late Show” joked that Obama and Trump’s “awkward” meeting was, “the most surprising remake of ‘Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner.’”
“A guy who spent five years, created his political career demanding Obama prove where he was born then denying he did it. What did they talk about? What was the tour like?… ‘Down that hall is the office I said you were fundamentally unfit for.’”
Later, James Corden of the “Late Late Show” commented on that water cannon salute given to Trump’s plane as he left New York.
“What a lot of people don’t know is those water cannons are actually filled with the tears of Democrats,” Corden said.
He also joked that the photo of the president and president-elect not smiling during Thursday’s White House meeting was their attempt at the mannequin challenge.
