*Halle Berry fans can take December 2nd off the calendar.

The date was supposed to mark the release of her upcoming film “Kidnap,” but its studio Relativity Media has taken it off of its schedule, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The studio has been struggling financially since emerging from Chapter 11 bankruptcy in April. It didn’t help that the films it did roll out since the bankruptcy, including “The Disappointments Room” and “Masterminds,” were box office bombs.

Via THR:

Last month, CEO Ryan Kavanaugh quietly put the studio up for sale. But in late October, he appeared to have found a new investor in Relativity, with Singapore-based web company YuuZoo inking a deal to acquire 33 percent of the indie studio for $50 million. But that investment is only partly cash (the rest is YuuZoo stock). In the 10 days since YouZoo announced that it was becoming a minority investor in Relativity, the publicly traded company’s stock has dipped slightly.

That leaves the Lorenzo di Bonaventura-produced Kidnap in limbo. The producers long sought for the film to be released so that another studio could release the film.

Now that Kidnap is gone from the schedule, the only wide release opening on Dec. 2 is the horror film “Incarnate.”
