*Cynthia Bailey says she is not interested in risking another painful divorce.
“I will never be in a relationship again where it will take a lawyer for me to walk away,” the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star told Us Weekly shortly after divorcing her husband of six years, Peter Thomas. “I will never marry again.”
Much of Bailey’s rocky marriage to Thomas’ was captured by reality TV cameras and in the tabloids. Thomas sparked cheating rumors after he was infamously caught flirting with other women.
“I believe with every ounce of oxygen and bone in my body that Peter never had sex with another woman,” Bailey adamantly said.
But as the 49-year-old model explained, their marriage hit hurdles when it came to her priorities.
“Peter never felt like he was my no. 1 priority,” Bailey said. “He was right.”
As she explained, she “couldn’t give up Cynthia Bailey to be Cynthia Bailey Thomas. I was in love with Peter, but I’m just not wife material.”
In July, Thomas, 56, shared that their divorce blindsided him. The former couple, who had no children together, later sold their Atlanta home for $699,000.
Cynthia has since bounced back with the purchase of a $960,000 lakefront Georgia home and celebrating her ex’s birthday in Hawaii. However, she’s a bit nervous of the next stages.
“There’s something very scary about turning 50 and being by yourself,” she said. “I just have to believe everything will be OK.”
