Established earlier this year by Founder & CEO Evie T. McDuff, ACADA is a non-profit organization that supports victims of domestic abuse by assisting in relocating victims, counseling, delivery of clothing and food to shelters, paying utilities, new home assistance, transportation, and awarding full scholarships to students of survivors.

ACADA’s purpose is to help survivors remain independent financially as well as emotionally.  “We want to be able to help families with acquiring abuse counseling, childcare and home expenses. We will help them find programs to learn trades for better employment opportunities and eventually help them build credit, buy homes and be able to pay college tuition for themselves and/or their children,” says McDuff.

She adds, “Darkness doesn’t have to last forever, seasons change and if they are willing to do the work, they can overcome the greatest obstacles as they walk into their new healthier, happier lives.”

Awards will be presented to Ashley Thompson, Evangelist Blondell Williams, Kevin Womack, Khalidah Raheem-Stewart and a surprise award.

McDuff is hoping to get celebrities involved with her foundation. Her spouse created a wooden box and named it, “The Commitment Box”. It was designed to commit to “Break the Chains” to domestic abuse. She was inspired by an ancestral wooden box that was discovered locked and chained, containing written letters of abuse. Her husband, Vedal McDuffie built over 100 personalized commitment boxes to donate to celebrities including, Oprah Winfrey, Tyler Perry, Rickey Smiley, NeNe Leakes, Porshe Williams, Tamar Braxton, and many others, challenging them to join the movement and donate to her organization.

Sponsors include Robbie Ray Management, Vibrant Web Creations, Security Consultants and Accurate Responder Services, Emailevation, and Exclusive Designs.
