*Actor James Franco has recruited Snoop Dogg and Method Man to join his film “Future World,” described as a post-apocalyptic action movie based on one of his original short stories.

The story follows a prince and a robot as they travel across the violent and desolate Wastelands in a journey of self-discovery. Bruce Cheung and Jay Davis adapted the screenplay from the story, and Cheung will co-direct with Franco.

The ensemble cast also includes Milla Jovovich, Lucy Liu and actress/model Suki Waterhouse.

The film, currently in post-production, has closed its first major international deal, with Tiberius Film picking up the movie for German distribution, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Italy’s AMBI group, which backed Franco’s John Steinbeck adaptation In Dubious Battle, is financing the feature and will distribute Future World domestically. Iervolino Bacardi and Monika Bacardi of AMBI are producing, together with Vince Jolivette and Jay Davis.

AMBI Distribution, the company’s world sales arm, is handling international sales, including at the American Film Market (AFM), and negotiated the deal with Tiberius.
