*Beyonce, Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band and Coldplay lead the finalists for the 2016 Billboard Touring Awards.
Presented by Ticketmaster, the annual event honors the artists, executives, companies and venues behind the most successful tours and events of the year. The awards are based primarily on box-office data reported to Billboard Boxscore between Oct. 1, 2015, and Sept. 30, 2016.
Finalists for the Top Tour, which goes to the highest-grossing tour of the year, and Top Draw, for the act selling the most tickets in the period, are the same three acts: Beyonce for her Formation tour, Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band for the River tour and Coldplay for their A Head Full of Dreams tour.
Finalists for Breakthrough, presented to an act cracking the elite tours for the first time, are Adele, The Weeknd and Twenty One Pilots. Scooter Braun, founder of SB Projects, will receive the Humanitarian Award, which recognizes the philanthropic efforts of a touring industry professional.
Kevin Hart is a finalist in the Top Comedy Tour category along with Amy Schumer, and Michael McIntyre.
Other awards include Top Venue, Top Club, Top Amphitheater, Top Manager, Top Agency, Top Promoter, Top Independent Promoter – U.S. and Top International Promoter – International.
Hosting this year’s 13th annual ceremony will be Brian Dunkleman of “American Idol” season one fame. The event moves to Los Angeles for the first time and will take place Nov. 9 at The SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills, during the Billboard Touring Conference, which is set to run Nov. 9-10.
