*“Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Kandi Burruss and her husband Todd Tucker have had one headache after another trying to launch the Old Lady Gang Restaurant based on the dishes of her mother Mama Joyce, Aunt Nora and Aunt Bertha.

The restaurant is still under construction despite initial plans to open in February 2016. Kandi tweeted her frustration over the restaurant just two days ago.

According to the Daily Mail, the couple has also driven crazy the builders who worked on the restaurant – to the tune of roughly $22,000. A carpenter and an air conditioning contractor have each filed liens against the pair for ignoring their invoices and being indirectly responsible for giving them bounced checks.

Work on the restaurant began in October 2015, when Kandi was pregnant with their son Ace Wells Tucker. According to court docs, the couple began running into trouble shortly afterward. Carpenter Charles Busbee filed a lien for $16,512, claiming he was supposed to be paid by June 30 and has yet to see a dime. He says the general contractor hired by the couple issued fraudulent checks — a felony in Georgia. Busbee is demanding to be paid immediately or he will take further legal action.

In the court filings, Busbee said it became apparent after work began that he would be providing much more to the project than planned, and would have to be the onsite foreman for the entire job – notwithstanding any pay adjustments to compensate for the additional work. By June 27 he had had enough and pulled himself and his workers from the project – and only then did he discover the checks were no good.

A second worker, an HVAC contractor named Tyrone Manuel, says he provided a three-ton system inside the kitchen area and a five-ton one in the lobby area, plus other materials. He says he’s owed $5,366 and was supposed to be paid by the end of August.

The total for both liens comes to $21,878.
