*Jennifer Hudson, A$AP Rocky, Nas, Jeffery Wright and Denzel Washington’s son John David Washington are among the ensemble cast of the upcoming film drama “Monster,” from Bron Studios and John Legend’s Get Lifted.
“Roots” actor Kelvin Harrison Jr. stars as a 17 year-old honors student and aspiring filmmaker, who is being charged with felony murder for a crime he says he did not commit.
Tim Blake Nelson and Jennifer Ehle will also star in Anthony Mandler’s directorial debut, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Mandler has been a longtime collaborator of Rihanna’s and has helmed music videos for Taylor Swift, Lana del Rey and Drake, among others.
Aaron L. Gilbert will produce, along with Nikki Silver, Tonya Lewis Lee, Mike Jackson and Edward Nahem. Daniel Crown, Yoni Liebling, Jason Cloth, Richard McConnell and Linnea Roberts will serve as executive producers.
Nas and Legend will also executive produce the feature, and will also play a role in the film’s music.
