Not So Subtle: Mexican Literary Magazine Gives Donald Trump a Hitler Moustache

*The Mexican literary magazine Letras Libres basically found a clever way to paint Donald Trump as Adolf Hitler on the cover of its October issue, which they unveiled Wednesday.

While many publications have noted Trump’s demagoguery, most have stopped short of calling him “fascist,” or compared him directly to Hitler.

But Letras Libres pulls no punches, labeling Trump “American Facist” on its cover and placing the words between his nose and upper lip to resemble Hitler’s moustache.

The issue includes articles with titles like “Donald Trump Thinks Politics is Business, and Business is Theft” and “Hillary’s Attacks on Trump in Their First Head-to-Head,” which begins by asserting, “She crushed him.”

Historian Enrique Krauze, the magazine’s founder and editor, has been an outspoken critic of the Republican nominee for disparaging Mexico and Mexicans in his campaign and demanding that the nation pay for a border wall to keep out immigrants.

“Donald Trump is a sociopath drunk on himself,” Krauze wrote in Slate earlier this month. “His religion is hatred. His god is Donald Trump. He is also addicted to empty adjectives. He is not a man of his word or of words as markers of truth.”
