Pittsburgh Area Cop Fired for Posting ‘I’m The Law Today N*gga’

*You can add Melissa Adamson‘s name to the list of unemployed police officers. She’s now an ex-law enforcement officer because she posted a photo on Snapchat with a caption that reads: “I’m the law today n*gga.”

In the Pittsburgh area, the mayor of McKeesport, PA – Michael Cherepko – announced on Facebook that Melissa Adamson had been terminated as an officer for the city due to her inappropriate social media conduct.

“This post displays a degree of conduct and character that is far different from what I would expect from an officer in this city,” Mayor Cherepko – wrote.

The Pitcairn Police Department also added their two cents to the controversy, releasing this statement via Facebook:

There has been a picture circulating around of an ex-female employee of the Pitcairn Police Department. As the picture alone does not constitute misconduct, it is symbolic speech and protected under the First Amendment. However, it is the content of the text in the picture which is unacceptable. The Pitcairn Police Department holds high integrity for the community we serve and this type of conduct will not be tolerated.”

Of course Adamson is insisting that she’s not what she portraying herself to be. It’s somebody else’s fault.

“I’m not a racist. That’s not how I plan on portraying myself,” Adamson told Pittsburgh’s Action News 4. The disgraced officer claims a rival cop leaked the picture, which was taken several months ago, to get her in trouble. “An altercation happened between me and a former police officer, and he’s bringing up his dirt, ruining my career, which has been done,” she said.

“Everyone that knows me knows I don’t have a racist bone in my body,” Adamson said. “And people who don’t know me, I can understand why it was misconstrued to where it looks racist. But like I said, everyone who knows me knows I’m not racist.”

Adamson added:

“I’m sorry for who I did offend. It was not my intention. I can’t express how sorry I am for how I made you feel — emotionally, physically. Again, it wasn’t my intention.”
