*Niecy Nash will promote the Marriott hotel chain through a weekly web series that will premiere next month on the Above Average channel and on Residence Inn’s website and social channels, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Titled “As the Fire Pit Burns,” the four-part soap opera will feature the actress playing a successful businesswoman staying at the Marriott’s Residence Inn for a conference. But when her longtime nemesis and business competitor checks in, things get interesting.

The soap is conceived to capture the passion, excitement and intrigue of travel in a “humorous and dramatic way,” focusing on the personal and professional relationships between co-workers and their shared travel experience.

The series is the last initiative from Marriott Content Studio, which launched in 2014. “As the Fire Pit Burns” marks its first collaboration with Above Average, the YouTube channel from Lorne Michaels‘ Broadway Video.

Nash has twice been nominated for a Primetime Emmy in her role in HBO’s “Getting On,” including earning a nom this year, and won a Daytime Emmy in 2010 as a producer on “Clean House.” She also co-stars in Fox’s “Scream Queens,” which had its second-season premiere Tuesday night.
