*Brangelina’s six children are about to be caught in a tug-o-war.
According to TMZ, Brad Pitt is planning to fight Angelina Jolie for joint physical custody of the kids in their divorce.
Jolie cited irreconcilable differences in her divorce filing and seeks sole physical custody of the children, with Pitt getting only visitation.
But Pitt wants nothing short of joint custody, reported TMZ, quoting unnamed sources. They added that Brad doesn’t want to interfere with Angelina’s ability to be a co-parent, but he won’t allow her to thwart him.
The sources also added Angelina’s a “great mother” and he doesn’t want to hurt her in the divorce. The sources say Brad and Angelina haven’t gotten along for months and have had frank talks about divorce several times, so this wasn’t a shock. Nevertheless, he’s still devastated.
TMZ’s Angelina sources claim Brad is a heavy weed smoker, abuses alcohol and has an anger problem that has endangered the kids.
The website’s “Brad sources,” however, insist he’s never put his kids in danger.
TMZ has been adamant in denying that the split was due to an affair between Brad and actress Marion Cotillard, the co-star of his new film “Allied.”
Page Six was among the outlets reporting that Angie hired a private detective who uncovered the onset romance.
Via Page Six:
“She hired a private eye because she felt that he was fooling around with her on the set, and it turns out, he was. And that was the final straw,’’ the source said.
Pitt, 52, had been rumored to have been cozying up to his “Allied’’ co-star Marion Cotillard, 40, for months during the pair’s filming of the World War II drama in London.
The PI discovered that Pitt was cheating on his wife of two years with Cotillard — while also partying like a single guy on a mission, the source said.
“The atmosphere [off-set] was full of hard drugs and Russian hookers, and Angie was told Brad got caught up in it,’’ the source said.
“He’s in the throes of some insane midlife crisis, and Angie is fed up.”
But a source close to Cotillard denied the Pitt affair rumors and insisted she is still with her long-term partner, French actor and director Guillaume Canet.
“They are still very much together. They have been a couple since 2007 and have one child but have never married,’’ the source said of Cotillard and Canet.
