*Because Brandon Marshall of the Denver Broncos decided to show solidarity with Colin Kaepernick by not standing, but kneeling, for the national anthem before Thursday’s game against the Carolina Panthers,  he has lost a sponsorship.

Knowing he was going to lose the sponsorship, Marshall protested anyway. Here, he tells why decided to follow through with the silent protest.

“I’m not against the military,” Marshall said following the game. “I’m not against the police or America. I’m against social injustice.”

But like we said, his protest action comes at a price.  The Air Academy Federal Union, via a posting on its Facebook page,  said Marshall will no longer serve as an endorser.

“Although we have enjoyed Brandon Marshall as our spokesperson over the past five months, Air Academy Federal Credit Union has ended our partnership,” CEO Glenn Strebe said in a statement. “While we respect Brandon’s right pf expression, his actions are not a representation of our organization and membership. We wish Brandon well on his future endeavors.”

Earlier today we reported that San Francisco 49ers owner, Jed York, has joined Kaepernick’s cause and is pledging $1 million to go towards dealing with issues of injustice and inequality.
