*Bobby Shmurda copped a plea in his murder conspiracy case in a move that will put him in prison for seven years, according to TMZ.
The rapper has been locked up since December 2014, when more than 15 defendants were charged with various crimes, including murder, attempted murder and drug dealing. Shmurda was facing a maximum sentence of 8 – 25 years on charges of conspiracy to commit murder, reckless endangerment, and drug and gun possession.
Police said Shmurda was “the driving force” in a gang known as GS9, the name of his label, as they dealt crack and waged deadly battle with rival gangs for territory before the rapper rose to fame.
On Friday, Shmurda pled to conspiracy to possess weapons and possession of a weapon. The other charges were dismissed, and he’ll get seven years in prison and five years probation, TMZ reports.
He’ll get credit for time served.
