*It may be the last song we’ll ever hear from Lil Wayne.
The rapper recorded “No Mercy” as the theme song for Fox Sports 1’s new debate show, “Skip and Shannon: Undisputed,” which premiered live Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m. ET.
The show’s stars — former ESPN pundit Skip Bayless, NFL Hall-of-Famer Shannon Sharpe and moderator Joy Taylor — also get airtime in the clip.
Lil Wayne was a frequent guest on Bayless’ ESPN programs. “Lil Wayne has been a friend and frequent guest on my show, and I’ve told him how honored I am to have such a legend create such a great song for our new show,” Bayless told Billboard.
That love goes both ways. Weezy said of Bayless: “I like the fact that he’s super intelligent … He probably came up with the term ‘debate,’ and he can debate his ass off.”

The theme song debut, however, comes days after Weezy had his fans concerned over a tweet suggesting he had hung up the mic for good.
Miami Beach police were called to his mansion Friday afternoon regarding a supposed shooting, but no victims were found, authorities said. It was the second time in a little over a year that someone has made a hoax 911 call to report a shooting at his home on La Gorce Island.
Hours later, Lil Wayne tweeted: “I AM NOW DEFENSELESS AND mentally DEFEATED & I leave gracefully and thankful I luh my fanz but I’m dun.”
After fans and celebrities began expressing their sadness, disappointment and confusion, Wayne followed up with another tweet: “Ain’t lookin for sympathy, just serenity.”
A source later told E! News that the rapper is not retiring from music after all, and instead his tweets came from a place of frustration surrounding a separate incident. “His love is music. He is just fed up with the game. S–t went down and he was mad and frustrated,” the insider said, adding, “He needed to vent like rappers do without thinking. He has no filter. He wants to make new music and will soon enough.”
Wayne has been in a legal battle with his label, Cash Money Records.
