*Faith Evans is free and clear to perform at the Atlanta stop of Puff Daddy’s Bad Boy Reunion Tour after a judge this week denied a promoter’s legal effort to keep her off the stage.

As previously reported, Atlanta promoter Jeremy Hill and The Middle Georgia Entertainment Group sued Evans for breach of contract, claiming she signed a deal to perform at Atlanta’s Wolf Creek Amphitheater on Sept. 10 (and was paid $17,500 up front), only to learn that she is also set to perform in Atlanta two days earlier, when Bad Boy rolls into town on Sept. 8.

Hill claimed his contract with Faith included a non-compete clause, meaning she could not perform within a 100-mile radius of his event during the six months leading up to Sept. 10.

But in an email sent to EURweb, Faith’s attorneys stated Hill’s lawsuit has been “thwarted by the District Court for the Northern District of Georgia Atlanta Division”:

Leron Rogers, partner, Lewis, Brisbois, Bisgaard & Smith LLP Attorneys, and Julian Petty, partner, Nixon Peabody, jointly stated: “We are extremely pleased with the court’s decision not to restrict Ms. Evans from performing on the Bad Boy Family Reunion Tour in Atlanta. The promoter’s attempts to prove that Ms. Evans’ participation in the tour date would cause irreparable harm fell grossly short. We expect to continue to be successful in these matters as they progress.”

Hill filed for a temporary restraining order against Evans in dispute over a canceled appearance, for which she was not the headliner and has been since replaced by another act.
