YouTube Sensation GloZell Green Welcomes Baby Girl Via Surrogate

GLOZELL-GREEN*YouTube sensation GloZell Green has written about her infertility struggles and her decision to allow a surrogate to carry her child. After years of trying, waiting and anticipating, Green and her hubby are now the elated parents of a baby girl.

According to a press release, GloZell’s surrogate, Shawna Johnson, gave birth August 4 to an 8 lbs., 10 oz., 19.5 inch baby girl that the couple named O’Zell Gloriana De Green Simon.

The baby’s ridiculous name is a reflection of GloZell’s family. O’Zell was the name of GloZell’s late father. Gloriana is a nod to her mother, Gloria, and De is for her sister DeOnzell.

GloZell married her husband Kevin Simon in 2013, and she has been quite open about her journey to have a child. Doctors told her that it was unlikely she would ever conceive because of her struggles with endometriosis. But GloZell refused to settle on the. Instead, she tried all types of fertility treatments until she and her husband found Shawna.

Last year, GloZell told People, “To say ‘What Shawna is doing for us is the greatest gift,’ is an understatement. She truly is an angel in our lives and we will be forever grateful to her for her generosity toward us.”

The comedian established her YouTube channel in 2008, with video interviews, comedy about her life and song parodies. By 2015, the channel had accumulated more than four million subscribers and more than 700 million total views. Her most popular videos include her cinnamon challenge video, and “My Push up Bra will help me get my man” video.

She gained wide notice when her vlog about meeting Elijah Wood was mentioned by the actor during a 2011 interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. In 2015, GloZell interviewed Barack Obama in a YouTube livestream hosted at The White House.
