*The man representing the Republican ticket for the United States presidency — as well as Commander In Chief of the U.S. Armed Forces and unofficial leader of the free world — has gone on another Twitter rant.
His target today…cable news. Donald Trump called CNN anchor Don Lemon “a lightweight” and “dumb as a rock” after he argued with one his guests, former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino, about Trump’s statement regarding Hillary Clinton and the Second Amendment.
.@dbongino You were fantastic in defending both the Second Amendment and me last night on @CNN. Don Lemon is a lightweight – dumb as a rock

After another attack on CNN, Trump returned a half hour later to drag MSNBC about its ratings.
Morning Joe’s weakness is its low ratings. I don’t watch anymore but I heard he went wild against Rudy Giuliani and #2A – sad & irrelevant!

TV Newser points to Nielsen data that shows “Morning Joe’s ratings are actually quite high. In July, the show gave MSNBC its biggest total viewer audience for the 6 a.m.-9 a.m. time slot in the 20-year history of the network. And the week of Aug. 1, was Morning Joe’s highest rated non-event week ever.”
Meanwhile, should Trump make it to his first scheduled debate with Clinton, the mogul was asked who would be acceptable to him as a moderator. “NBC Nightly News” anchor Lester Holt and CNN’s Dana Bash pass his fairness test.
“I think Lester Holt is a good guy,” Trump said in an interview Thursday with Hugh Hewitt. Of Bash, Trump said “I think she’s had moments of great fairness.”
But Mary Katharine Ham, who was added to ABC’s panel of questioners for a Republican debate in February, would not make the cut—if Trump were actually in charge.
“She is not a fan of mine and I’ve never gotten along with her,” Trump said. “I don’t know her, but she says only bad things. So let’s cross her name off.”
Trump told Time magazine this week he intends to debate Clinton, but said he would object to moderators who he considered to be “unfair.” The Commission on Presidential Debates has yet to announce its choices to moderate three presidential and one vice-presidential debate.
