*Reg E. Cathey, best known as barbecue king Freddy on the Netflix series “House of Cards,” steps into the shoes and hair of famed boxing promoter Don King for his role in the upcoming “Hands of Stone,” a biopic of Panamanian boxer Roberto Durán.
The film chronicles the life and career of Durán (Edgar Ramirez), as well as his relationship with his trainer Ray Arcel (Robert De Niro). Durán’s rise to the top was meteoric, and he managed to best the then-undefeated welterweight champion Sugar Ray Leonard (played by Usher) in 1980. His manager, however, soon negotiated a deal with Don King and organized a rematch against Leonard only a few months later.
In the clip below, Arcel tries to convince King to back out of the rematch, which would become known as the “No Mas” fight.

“Hands of Stone,” which made its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in May, will hit theaters on Aug. 26.
