*It’s summertime in the city and the 11th annual Peachtree Village International Film Festival (PVIFF 2016) is getting ready to kick off in Atlanta!
The Southeast’s premiere independent film and arts market returns in style with an exciting schedule of screenings, educational forums, and networking, taking place August 11 through 14 at the Marriott Suites in Midtown.
“Diverse Imagery” is this year’s theme for PVIFF 2016, featuring dynamic, celebrity guests, honorees and stars, like, Loretta Devine, NAACP and Emmy award winner (Boston Public, Grey’s Anatomy, Waiting to Exhale, The Preachers Wife, For Colored Girls, This Christmas, Jumping the Broom); acclaimed actor of stage and screen, Emmy nominated Obba Batatunde, (Miss Evers Boys, Manchurian Candidate, Introducing Dorothy Dandridge, Sammy: Once Upon a Lifetime, Life, The Bold and the Beautiful); Famed Producer – Director Tommy Oliver ( Perfect Guy, Destained ) and distinguished actress, Barbara Niven (Chesapeake Shores, A Perfect Ending, Murder She Baked ) will make special appearances, along with other entertainment industry notables.
Another highlight of the 2016 PVIFF, will be the 20th Anniversary celebration, marking the release dates of the classic films, “Friday” and “Higher Learning.”
The highly anticipated annual Atlanta based film festival offers vast opportunities for independent filmmakers, actors, directors, producers and writers looking to breakthrough the Hollywood movie maze.
