Daphnique Springs Dishes with Humor Mill About Winning ABFF Competition and More

*According to Humor Mill’s Frank Holder, a couple of weeks ago at The ABFF/American Black Film Festival’s 4th annual “Comedy Wings Competition” in Miami, comedian Daphnique Springs was announced as the winner.

Springs was one of the five finalists which included comedians Del Harrison, Tyree Elaine, Kareem Chapman, and Anton Shuford, as they all competed for the crown at the event which was hosted by Cedric The Entertainer.

If you are not familiar, The “Comedy Wings Competition” is a national search for the new stars of comedy. The goal of the competition is to provide a platform for talented yet undiscovered comedians to break into film and television. Nine semifinalists were selected from around the country to participate in the live audition in LA, and the four comics mentioned above were hand picked by the judges to proceed to the finals event at the 2016 ABFF in Miami.

Holder caught up with Springs to ask her about the competition and how her life has changed since she was crowned the winner. Check out the interview up top.
