*The three-bedroom white house in Minneapolis featured in the 1984 film “Purple Rain” was quietly purchased last summer by the film’s star.

According to the Star Tribune, Prince bought the home for $117,000 in cash last August – just eight months before his death. It’s the spot where Prince’s character “The Kid” lived with his mother and father.

Online records show that the fixer-upper at 3420 Snelling Ave. in the city’s Longfellow neighborhood was purchased “sight unseen” in August for more than the $110,000 asking price. Prince never lived in the house and never made the required renovations to the 100-year-old residence, according to the Tribune.

“I don’t think he had a plan. I think he just wanted it,” Deborah Larson, the home’s selling agent, told the Tribune. Larson said she was shocked to receive a phone call last July from someone offering to pay for the house upfront.

Hours later, much to Larson’s shock, the transaction was a done deal. Larson said she didn’t know who the buyer was until she saw NPG Music Publishing on the paperwork.
