*Larenz Tate and Mike Colter have come aboard the cast of Universal Pictures’ comedy “Girl Trip” opposite Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith and Regina Hall, reports Variety.

Malcolm D. Lee is directing from a script by Kenya Barris and Tracy Oliver about four lifelong friends who travel to New Orleans for the annual Essence Festival, where sisterhoods are rekindled, wild sides are rediscovered, and there’s enough dancing, drinking, brawling and romancing to make the Big Easy blush.

Will Packer is producing via his Will Packer Productions banner. James Lopez, head of motion pictures for Will Packer Productions, will executive produce.

Lee’s directing resume includes “The Best Man Holiday” and “Barbershop: The Next Cut.” Barris is the creator of “Black-ish” and is currently adapting the 70’s show “Good Times” as a movie.

“Girl Trip” is due in theaters on July 21, 2017.
