*Queen Latifah has been recognized by the folks at Chrysalis, a nonprofit organization aimed at helping Los Angeles’ homeless become educated and employed.
The actress was among this year’s recipients of the Spirit of Chrysalis Award, handed out Saturday night at the 15th annual Chrysalis Butterfly Ball.
Brian Robbins and “The Last Ship’s” Hank Steinberg were also given the award, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Previous honorees include Salma Hayek, Ryan Murphy and Mila Kunis.
Fred Savage hosted the evening, which took place at a private Mandeville Canyon estate and began with a red carpet and cocktail reception, followed by sitdown dinner, awards ceremony and ended with a performance from PHASES.
