After nearly three years in a federal prison on gun and drug charges, the 36-year-old rapper was released Thursday morning (May 26) – four months early, according to TMZ.

The rapper’s lawyer, Drew Findling, filed a motion months ago stating Gucci hadn’t received credit for previous time served. Apparently the judge agreed.

Findling says Gucci already has a home just outside the city, where he’ll be on house arrest for a few months before going on probation.

The rapper had most recently been held in a federal penitentiary in Indiana after pleading guilty in May 2014, receiving a 39-month sentence.

Sources close to Gucci tell TMZ he’s anxious to get back in the studio.
