*Actor Michael Jace says he will take the stand in his murder case filed after he fatally shot his wife two years ago.
The 53-year-old former co-star on FX’s “The Shield” told a judge Thursday that he would not testify in his own defense, according to The AP.
Prosecutors are seeking a first-degree murder conviction against Jace, who has admitted shooting his wife of nine years in their Los Angeles home. But Jace’s lawyers say the actor did not plan to kill his wife and shot her in the heat of passion after she told him she wanted a divorce.
Prosecutors have rested their case.
