*Actor/activist Jesse Williams revealed during the Denzealots pop culture podcast that he’s doing a biopic on another actor and activist, Harry Belafonte.
On top of the Belafonte feature, Williams says he also producing two documentaries. One, not surprisingly, is on the Black Lives Matter movement for BET and another dealing with the school to prison pipeline.
Speaking of his activism, Williams told the hosts that these days he’s more into activism than acting. He notes that as a father and husband, he has to think carefully about how he engages.

“I care more about activism and social justice and law than I do about acting. I have an awesome job that I love, but there’s this magnetic force that is constantly pulling me toward activism. I just have to do it.”
By the way, the Denzealots, a podcast is hosted by comedians W. Kamau Bell and Kevin Avery.
In other news, the NCAA wants to make a change to its annual “One Shining Moment” montage at the end of the Final Four tournament
Ne-Yo will be doing a version this year, however he’s NOT bumping Luther Vandross.
You probably had noticed, Vandross’ version of the song has been mostly used since 2003 with 1 exception, in 2010 he was replaced for Jennifer Hudson. But that didn’t go over too well so they brought back Luther’s version the next year.
Now, the NCAA has announced Ne-Yo has recorded the song , but they say he will NOT replace Luther on the main broadcast.

Instead, Ne-Yo’s version will reportedly be featured on TNT and truTV while Luther’s version will air on the main broadcast on TBS.
“One Shining Moment,” originally written by David Barrett, was first used after Indiana defeated Syracuse in the 1987 NCAA championship game. Barrett’s original was used from 1987 to 1993, and then again from 2000 to 2002. CBS also used renditions by Teddy Pendergrass from 1994 to 1999 and Vandross from 2003 to 2009, as well as from 2011 to 2015. Jennifer Hudson’s version was used for the 2010 broadcast.
This year’s championship game at NRG Stadium in Houston will be broadcast Monday on TBS at 9 p.m. ET.
