*WE tv has renewed freshman reality series “Growing up Hip Hop” for Season 2, the network announced Thursday.

The series, which follows the children of such rap moguls as Rev Run and Damon Dash, averaged 966,000 total viewers per episode during its six-show run, according to Nielsen.

“We’re excited for another season and the opportunity to continue watching these talented and driven individuals pursue their own definitions of success, emerging from the shadows of their famous parents and the hip hop empires they were born into,” Marc Juris, president of WE tv, said in a statement. “This show connected with viewers immediately, because these characters and stories are real and relatable, and we can’t wait to bring the fans more.”
