*Atlah Worldwide Church Pastor James Manning is truly not taking the repossession of his church very well.
The repossession, which stems from years of unpaid taxes, is even more of an issue for Manning in light of the property potentially going to the Ali Forney Center, a nonprofit organization that addresses the needs of homeless LGBT youth.
The center is among the first to express interest in purchasing the church under plans to turn it into an LGBT youth center. Manning is noted for expressing his severe dislike of gays with ant-gay messages he posts on the marquee outside Atlah Worldwide.
According to reports, the pastor learned about the city’s intent to repossess the church last month as word got out that it was over what he calls “a damn water bill.” Nevertheless, Manning has tried to present his side of the story, saying that he doesn’t need to pay the water bill in light of Atlah Worldwide being tax exempt. As a result, he blames the administration of New York City mayor Bill de Blasio, whom he believes is targeting him for his religious beliefs.
So with all that said, Manning went to a greater platform last week to state his case and voice his outrage: Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show”
Chatting with Jessica Williams, Manning was not shy about expressing his views while stating that “sodomites” with “jungle fever” are “coming to Harlem to look for black meat.” In addition to that, he reintroduced previous anti-gay claims he’s made, that Starbucks puts semen in its lattes as part of the gay agenda, and that “sodomites will carry babies in their testicles for nine months and then gestate them out of their a**holes.”
