*Variety is reporting that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are on the verge of selling the Bel Air home that they never actually moved into.
The couple is “inches away from making a hush-hush, off-market deal to sell a nearly 10,000-square-foot Bel Air mansion they scooped up in early 2013 for $9 million, and extensively remodeled at great expense,” writes Variety’s Mark David.
The couple wanted more than $20 million for the house, but the deal looks to have been made for somewhere north of $14 million, according to David:
The property isn’t listed on the open market, so few details of the couple’s overhaul are publicly known, but digital resources indicate the sleekly rehabbed contemporary — prior to the renovation, it was floridly ersatz Tuscan villa — opens at the rear to a flat backyard with broad canyon views, a lushly watered sweep of lawn, newly installed swimming pool and spa, and open-air poolside cabana.
Instead of moving into the Bel-Air spot, the couple settled on a bigger and brand new French Country-style property of nearly 16,000 square feet on three acres in the Hidden Hills enclave of L.A., purchased in August 2014 for just under $20 million. The estate, once owned by Lisa Marie Presley, is just around the corner from Kardashian’s momager Kris Jenner’s mansion.
