Ex-NBAer Delonte West Caught Barefoot in Hospital Robe; Fans Worry

Delonte-west*The days since the NBA have not been kind to Delonte West as a photo shows the eight-year NBA vet loitering around a Jack in the Box parking lot in without shoes and in a hospital robe.

According to TMZ Sports, the photo, which surfaced online, was taken by an anonymous Instagram user who pointed out that West’s slurred speech matched his disheveled look. The site goes on to mention that the user approached West and asked him if he was the 32-year-old pro baller.

“I used to be, but I’m not about that life anymore,” West told the user. After being asked what happened, West replied with a simple explanation: “life.”

West’s current state marks a notable contrast from how he was years ago when he played in the NBA. Vibe notes that West’s eight-year career in the pros included various highlights that ranged from playing in more than 400 games to reportedly making $16 million as a player for the Boston Celtics, Seattle SuperSonics, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Dallas Mavericks. Upon leaving the league, West ended up with more than 4,000 points on the board.

Despite his accomplishments on the court, things were far different outside the world of basketball as West encountered a bunch of trouble as he found himself at the center of a lot of talk. Among the chatter was a rumor that involved him sleeping with Lebron James’ mother during his time with Cavaliers after he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2008. West ended up shooting down that rumor with a full-fledged denial.

Vibe goes on to acknowledge how West’s current state isn’t a surprise to former fans who first got wind of the athlete’s new mindstate when he posted the following tweet:

“It’s official, Pride 2 the side. just filled out application at Home Depot. Lockout aint a game.”

Although West tweeted his application with the initial tweet, he ended up deleting it soon after positing it.
