*Lifetime’s Saturday night debut of “Toni Braxton: Unbreak My Heart” was “ad-supported cable’s top-rated movie in key demos in one year,” Variety reports.

The biopic averaged 3.6 million viewers, including 1.7 million adults 18-49 and 1.8 million adults 25-54. It stands as cable’s No. 1 original movie with adults 25-54, women 25-54 and women 18-49 since Lifetime’s January 2015 premiere of “Whitney.”

The film, starring newcomer Lex Scott Davis and based on Braxton’s bestselling memoir, was followed by the special “Beyond the Headlines: Tony Braxton,” which drew 2.8 million viewers. It featured interviews with Toni and her family, L.A. Reid, Babyface, record producer David Foster and songwriter Diane Warren.

Fans and celebrities alike took to Twitter Saturday night to praise the movie, including Russell Simmons who said: “Proud of my friend @tonibraxton — tuned in to #ToniBraxtonMovie right now. one of greatest voices we’re ever[sic] heard + such a remarkable woman,” he tweeted.

Directed by Vondie Curtis-Hall, the film also stars Tiffany Hines (as Tamar Braxton), Skye P. Marshall (as Towanda Braxton) and Cortney Scott Wright (as Traci Braxton).

Towanda showed her support for Skye via social media, she posted “who knew I could find someone who is so similar to me! I LOVE sky and she did an AMAZING job if I must say so myself”.

48-year-old Toni and her sisters live-tweeted to share their thoughts on the movie, and in a since-deleted post, Tamar responded to a scene in which she said was “not real.”

The scene revealed the moment Toni told her family that producers Babyface and L.A. Reid didn’t want to sign the Braxton sisters as a group; they only wanted to sign her as a solo artist. According to the Lifetime movie, Tamar took the rejection the hardest, storming off worried that she would never become famous, per IBITimes.

The Shade Room caught Tamar’s tweet about the scene to a fan, “It’s a MOVIE not REAL or the way I recall a few things… but I was a hater at 11,” she posted.

She later deleted the post, writing instead, “Jokes aside… I’m really enjoying this movie #goodjobsissy @tonibraxton and @towandabraxton [I’m] so proud 2 b apart of your amazing journey.”

On Instagram, Tamar continued to praise her big sister. “I love you. I’m so proud of you and everything you have in front of you,” she posted. “You will always be my heart — Always.”

Following the premiere, Toni revealed to ABC News what she learned from working on the Lifetime biopic.

“I was stronger than I thought I was,” she said. “I’m pretty proud of myself. I can’t deny it.”
